Senior NFDC Post for Robert Collard
Robert Collard, founder and Managing Director of Hampshire-based R Collard Limited has been appointed Chairman of the London and Southern Counties Region of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC). Robert had spent two years as Vice Chairman and now takes over from Holly Price, the outgoing chairman. Robert will be supported by Matthew Phillips of Downwell Demolition who takes up the position of Vice Chairman.
The announcement was made on 24th January 2017 and Robert looks forward to taking office on 31st March at the NFDC’s AGM. During his two-year term he will be representing members and promoting best practice and technical development in the industry.

Founded in 1995 R Collard Limited is fast becoming one of the best known and most respected companies operating in the demolition sector in the South of England. With a staff of over 200, it provides a comprehensive portfolio of services from initial consultancy to site investigations through asbestos removal, structural demolition, groundworks and landscaping to construction waste management. From Headquarters in Eversley it operates five licenced Waste Transfer Stations, delivering services to main contractors, consultancies, property developers and public sector organisations throughout the region. The company celebrated its 21st Anniversary in 2016 by posting record turnover of £28 million, culminated in it securing its largest project, the £4.5 million demolition of Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.
Robert intends to use his two-year tenure as Chairman to bring his technical knowledge of demolition and the recycling of construction waste recycling to the region’s membership. He said of the announcement, “I am honoured to be representing NFDC members operating in London and the South of England and look forward to sharing with them the expertise I have gained running R Collard. The UK construction sector is continuing to see strong growth and the accompanying demand for quality recycled aggregate presents opportunities for all of us to be at the heart of the circular economy.” R Collard’s demolition division provides feedstock for the waste management facilities which in turn generate high-grade washed aggregate for reuse in construction and civil engineering.
R Collard Limited has strong links with the industry body having first become a member of the NFDC in 2004. Robert became Vice Chairman of the London & Southern Counties Region in 2015 and the company invests over £100,000 each year on training its workforce via the body’s skills initiative the National Demolition Training Group. R Collard’s demolition projects are audited by the NFDC’s Site Audit Accreditation Scheme and have exemplary health and safety and environmental credentials.
