Cskills Awards to be sold by CITB
Long-running NOCN (National Open College Network), a national awarding organisation, have purchased Cskills Awards from CITB with the aim to continue its work.
The Cskills organisation works with training and assessment centres to enhance the level of skill within the construction sector, by developing Construction Qualifications. NOCN have committed to continuing on this path, but expanding beyond construction occupations, which the CITB were previously restricted to.
The sale is due to complete on 1st August, with 24 staff transferring employment to NOCN in order to continue the running of CskillsAwards' services as normal.
Sarah Beale, Chief Executive of CITB, said: “The sale of Cskills Awards is the right decision for the construction industry.
“NOCN has a commitment to continuing to service the breadth of products and services and maintain quality levels.
“In addition, NOCN will be able to greatly expand the range of qualifications on offer to customers, beyond construction occupations, as they are not subject to the same restrictions as CITB.
“Our thanks and good wishes go with our colleagues who have not only served CITB well, but I am sure will continue to deliver excellent support to the industry through NOCN.”
