President’s Report – Adrian Corrigan

• One NFDC Family: Celebration of a proud history – a community built on tradition and trust

• Collaboration: Working together with other industry bodies to gain and share knowledge; strengthening our voice and setting the benchmark in UK demolition

• NFDC Talks: Now CPD-certified and continuing to promote our voice across the industry

• Breaking Down Barriers: Social responsibility and employment routes

Annual Accounts of the Federation-Lesley Ransome

• The Federation’s annual accounts were presented and are available for members to review upon request via Lesley Ransome. In addition, a remarkable £153,000 was raised for 27 charities, highlighting the generosity and strong sense of community among NFDC members.

NFDC Update – Brian Carroll

• Updates were provided on the NFDC’s internal affairs, including key developments in site audits, regional meetings, NFDC Talks, CPD certification, industry webinars, and funding.

Marketing Report – Silvia Navarro

• The NFDC recapped its PR activity, events, and publications, outlining how the marketing team continues to raise the profile of members while building anticipation for another key event in the demolition calendar—the NFDC Convention.

Guest Speaker – Jose Blanco (European Demolition Association)

• The discussion explored the concept of change within the demolition industry and how businesses can collaborate through trade organisations and industry events to share experience, helping others avoid repeating similar mistakes.

Guest Speaker – Jan Andresen (Health & Safety Executive)

• A session was delivered on inspection priorities and health surveillance, emphasising the importance of competence and diligence in assessing risk and what this means for contractors. It also highlighted the resources available to support employers in promoting workplace wellbeing.

Guest Speaker – Graham Watts (Construction Industry Council)

• The discussion covered the Single Construction Regulator prospectus, including the regulation of construction products and building professions. It also addressed ongoing work to develop a licensing scheme for principal contractors working on Higher-Risk Buildings, in line with Grenfell Inquiry recommendations. A digital-first approach to the SCR was also highlighted.

Guest Speaker – Adrian McLean (Institute of Demolition Engineers)

• The Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE) celebrated its 50-year history and continued contribution to demolition engineering. IDE is now preparing for its 50th anniversary gala dinner in September 2026 and continues to share its educational resources with the industry.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the NFDC Awards Ceremony 2026. From our Corporate Members and ISP Members to our wider industry colleagues, your presence made the event truly special. The evening, however, belonged to the outstanding individuals and teams we were proud to celebrate.

Celebrating Excellence in Demolition

Congratulations to all of our winners and highly commended recipients for their exceptional contributions. Your hard work, passion, and commitment to excellence continue to set the benchmark for the demolition industry.

A special mention goes to Lesley Ransome, NFDC Chief Financial Officer, who received the Outstanding Contribution Award. This well-deserved recognition honours her exceptional service and long-standing commitment to the industry.

Guest Speaker Mike Phillips

One of the standout moments of the evening was the interview with guest speaker Mike Phillips. The former international rugby scrum-half captivated the audience with his engaging presence and a series of entertaining stories from his playing career and time in the public eye. His reflections brought both humour and energy to the room, adding a distinctive highlight to a memorable occasion.

Raising Funds for a Worthy Cause

In the spirit of giving, the evening also saw a significant contribution made to Sue Ryder, the charity selected by Adrian Corrigan for the Golden Envelope Charity Raffle. Thanks to the generosity of attendees, £4,110 was raised in support of this vital cause, reflecting the compassion and community spirit within the demolition industry.

We are sincerely grateful to everyone whose contributions helped achieve this outstanding total.

The NFDC Awards Ceremony remains a standout moment in the annual calendar, and the 2026 event was no exception. The evening brought together celebration, recognition, and plenty of enjoyment, and we are sincerely grateful to everyone who attended, supported, and helped make it such a success.
