Basingstoke, UK – 28.11.2025

The National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) today honoured the life and legacy of former President Paul J. Brown, as family, friends, and colleagues gathered for his funeral service at Basingstoke Crematorium.
The service was well attended by many distinguished NFDC past Presidents, Council Members, NFDC members and Industry Service Providers (ISPs), reflecting the deep respect and admiration Paul commanded across the demolition sector and the wider construction industry.
The service was led by William Sinclair, who delivered a moving and heartfelt homily, celebrating Paul’s life, values and long-standing dedication to the industry. The NFDC was formally represented at the service, as requested by the family, paying tribute on behalf of the Federation and its members.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Claude Brown, Paul became one of the few father-and-son Presidents in the history of the Federation. His leadership and contribution to the industry extended far beyond his presidency.
After retiring from contracting, Paul continued to serve the demolition sector with distinction as an End Point Assessor for the Demolition Trailblazer Programme and an approved auditor for the NFDC Site Audit Scheme, playing a key role in raising standards and supporting the future of the industry.
Following the service, attendees gathered for a reception at The Wheatsheaf Hotel, where colleagues and friends shared memories and paid their respects.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, family flowers only were observed. Donations in Paul’s memory were made to the Countess of Brecknock Hospice, in recognition of the care and support provided.
The NFDC extends its sincere condolences to Paul’s family, friends and colleagues, and thanks all those who attended to honour a respected leader and dedicated servant to the industry.
