As you may know, we have been developing guidance on consignment controls that apply to businesses that remove waste where the premises is less clearly defined. I am pleased to say that it has been published today – see links below. This guidance has been developed to replace the regulatory position statement RPS 025 that ceased to apply when premises notification was removed in 2015. We are providing reduced consignment requirements while a new tracking system is being developed.
To respond to customer requests, we have also undertaken some additional changes to the consignment note guidance, to the rejection procedures guidance and to consignee return guidance, to provide clarity and reduce ambiguity. We recommend you read it.
