The National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) is aware of the building collapse incident yesterday at Swingate House, Stevenage, in which nobody was injured and the site was quickly secured.
The demolition contractor engaged by Mace Group and the Council to carry out the demolition works will cooperate fully with the HSE investigation to ascertain what happened.
NFDC is committed to sharing learning from industry incidents in order to prevent future occurrences. Once facts have been established, NFDC will work with the demolition contractor to share a case study and learnings from the incident with the NFDC membership and the wider demolition industry.
