Wellbeing

This year, the NFDC has partnered with The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust (GFCT) to promote their prostate cancer testing to our members, supporting early detection and men’s health.

This initiative is part of a national industry effort, with 140 companies already participating, demonstrating the commitment across our sector to prioritising men’s health and well-being.

What is the PSA Test?

The PSA test is a simple blood test that can help detect early signs of prostate cancer. The test measures the level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in blood produced by the prostate gland. Some PSA naturally enters the bloodstream, but higher levels may indicate prostate issues, including cancer.

This is not the invasive prostate exam—this is a straightforward blood test that can be done at home, or during an organised testing event.

Options

  • Home Testing Kits – Available for just £28.99, allowing members to test from their home. (Details below.)
  • On-Site Testing – For companies wishing to arrange on-site testing, a healthcare professional can visit your workplace to test at least 60 men.
  • Fast & Confidential Results – Results are delivered within 24 hours and remain strictly confidential—companies will not have access to individual results.

Availability

Testing is open to all men over 40. Nurses are available Monday – Saturday to conduct on-site testing. This service is not available in Scotland—Scottish and Northern Ireland (S&NI) members will need to purchase the home testing kits instead.
