As part of our ongoing commitment to giving back to the community, NFDC members once again demonstrated their generosity during the Autumn 2024 round of regional meetings. The donations from our members will make a real difference to those in need, and we are incredibly proud to highlight the amazing causes that were supported this season.
North East:
Members in the North East region showed their compassion by contributing to two impactful causes:
- Bassetlaw Toy Appeal received a generous donation of £1,000. This charity works to ensure that underprivileged children across the region can enjoy a joyful Christmas with toys and gifts they might not otherwise receive.
- Yorkshire Children’s Charity was also the recipient of £1,000. The charity supports children across Yorkshire who are living with disabilities, providing essential services and support to help improve their quality of life.
London & Southern Counties:
In London & Southern, our members contributed significantly to local charities, demonstrating a strong spirit of care for the community:
- Rowcroft House Foundation, a charity providing hospice care, received a substantial donation of £3,341.39, which was generously topped up to £4,100 from the NFDC President’s charity fund. This donation will help provide crucial support to families and individuals facing terminal illness, ensuring comfort and care during difficult times.
Midlands & Wales:
The Midlands & Wales region continued its tradition of supporting vital causes, with a remarkable contribution to Sue Ryder, a charity providing palliative, neurological, and bereavement care:
- A total of £4,800 was donated to Sue Ryder, a charity that touches the lives of so many, offering comfort and support to families when they need it the most.
These donations reflect the spirit of giving that remains a cornerstone of our Federation. We are incredibly grateful to all our members for their continued support and for demonstrating the power of community.
