Matt Le Tissier to Inspire at 2025 NFDC Awards
We are thrilled to announce that football legend Matt Le Tissier will be the guest speaker at the 2025 NFDC Awards. Renowned for his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport, Le Tissier’s insights promise to be both inspiring and enlightening.
Born on October 14, 1968, in Saint Peter Port, Guernsey, Matt Le Tissier is celebrated as one of the most naturally gifted footballers of his generation. He spent his entire professional career at Southampton Football Club, making over 400 appearances and scoring more than 160 goals. His remarkable technique and vision on the field earned him the moniker “Le God” among fans.
Despite his prolific club career, Le Tissier earned eight caps for the England national team between 1994 and 1997. He was also voted PFA Young Player of the Year in 1990 and was the first midfielder to score 100 goals in the Premier League.
After retiring from professional football, Le Tissier transitioned into a successful career as a sports pundit, notably with Sky Sports. In June 2024, he joined non-league club Sholing as an associate director, continuing his involvement in the football community.
