GROUP DIRECTOR OF AWARDING ORGANISATION NOCN CPCS
Formerly with CITB, Mark has been with NOCN Group for the last five years – one of the leading high-quality Awarding Organisations in the UK. His current role is to develop and expand NOCN Group’s awarding organisation and related activities consisting of regulated qualifications, endorsed programmes and construction accredited short courses to a wide range of sectors and educational levels, in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
Mark joined our Judging Panel for the NFDC Awards 2020 as an active participant with a breadth of related industry experience. We’re very pleased to welcome him back for a second time.
SHONA FARRELL
TRAINING MANAGER, NDTG SCOTLAND
Shona Farrell grew up within the demolition industry and after spells working both inside and outside of the sector, settled as Training Manager of NDTG Scotland after it was formed by her father 12 years ago. Shona supports NDTG Scotland’s 38 members with their training needs, in addition to managing the specialist training group for bespoke skills development. She has a passion for helping newcomers gain employment in the demolition sector and supporting Apprentices on their demolition career journeys.
With an eye for recognising talent when she sees it, we’re delighted to have Shona join the Judging Panel for the NFDC Awards.
RICHARD DOLMAN
PRESIDENT, INSTITUTE OF DEMOLITION ENGINEERS
In 2016 Richard was made a Fellow of the Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE). Currently IDE President, he has been instrumental in developing and promoting both the Foundation Degree in Demolition Management and the MSc Demolition Management degree, the latter of which he has passed with distinction.
An outspoken advocate for professional development, attracting newcomers to industry and sharing learning amongst peers, we know Richard will bring value and insight to this year’s Judging Panel.

NFDC CEO, Howard Button, and Vice President, Gary Bishop, join the panel in non-voting roles.
ABOUT JUDGING DAY
Our Judging Panel will convene via Zoom on Monday 7th March to pore over the nominations for the NFDC Awards in five individual categories from Apprentice to Manager, and in five company categories from Health and Safety to Sustainability.
NFDC HQ have been wowed by the outstanding entries received this year in all award categories and can’t wait to present the candidates for judging.
