In March this year NFDC crowned Sarah Stockley, of Erith Contractors, their Demolition Apprentice of the Year at the prestigious annual Awards event, designed to recognise the very best talent in the demolition sector.
Today, London & South East Colleges (LSEC) Director of Apprentices and Distance Learning, Debra McDermott, revealed that an elated Sarah is “over the moon” with her End Point Assessment result – an overall distinction in the Demolition Standard. This makes Sarah not only the first Demolition Apprentice in this country to achieve the demolition standard, but she’s the first female Demolition Apprentice to boot!
In sharing the good news with all those who have been a part of Sarah’s learning journey, LSEC are keen to ensure Sarah’s story reaches as far and wide as possible. Demolition Apprentices just like Sarah are exactly what the industry now needs, and with the Apprenticeship programme now more accessible than ever we want to see more Apprentices reaching the same heights.
All of us at NFDC congratulate Sarah Stockley – a remarkable young woman who has set the standard for the Demolition Apprentices of the future, and shown them just how it’s done!
