AMS is changing to Protec Equipment: a new look under new leadership

Rainham: Air Management Systems, AMS Holdings, AMS Management, AMS Safety or simply AMS; we’ve been known by a few different names in the 23 years since we were established. And now we are Protec Equipment. It looks like a big change, and in some ways it is. The new name and new logo is far more than a facelift – it is the final phase of our integration following our acquisition by the French environmental safety business Protec Group in 2016. Joining Protec has given us access to the wider group, and over the coming months new products and services will start to be introduced, as well as better ways of delivering for our customers.

This change of brand has been accompanied by a change in the leadership team. Protec Equipment is now under the joint leadership of Andrew Gibson and Jeff Letch, and they take on their new roles at a very exciting time for the business. As well as bringing fresh thinking and strong leadership, both Andrew and Jeff have a strong track record in delivering business change and sustainable growth:

  • Andrew was previously International CFO at Cape Plc, CFO/CEO at Global Marine Energy Plc, and Group FD/COO at Inlaks Group Plc. In recent years, he has run his own consultancy specialising in change management and business improvement
  •  Jeff has extensive knowledge in the hazardous waste market having worked in sales and operations at Safety Kleen UK for 12 years. His previous roles include consultancy at Pectel/Keltbray, UK sales for ARI technologies, and Director at Windsor Integrated Services Ltd.

Andrew and Jeff are joined by Kelly Downs, formerly National Operations Manager at SMH, as Operations Director, and Paul Steele, a familiar figure to AMS, as Sales Director. Both bring deep industry understanding to their roles.

"We are extremely excited to be launching as Protec Equipment in the UK," said Andrew. "AMS was a strong brand in the asbestos industry, and we are delighted to be offering our loyal customers access to the excellent products and services the wider Protec Group has to offer. It’s been a time of significant change for everyone at AMS, but with such a strong and committed team, we know that our future as Protec Equipment is a bright one."

About AMS / Protec Equipment: Established in 1994, Air Management Systems has a strong history of developing and supplying high quality products and equipment to the asbestos removal industry. As Protec Equipment, we will be building on these foundations to deliver exceptional products, equipment and service to our customers in the asbestos industry and beyond.
