The NFDC London and Southern Counties member community met for their Regional AGM on Friday 25th January at The Chesterfield Hotel, Mayfair, London.
The regional meeting was opened with a one minute silence, whilst Members remembered Darren Bennet of Liebherr, who had unexpectedly and tragically passed away. A staunch supporter of NFDC and a wonderful character, the loss of Darren affected all of those who knew him deeply and he will be sadly missed.
Over 100 Corporate and Industry Service Provider Members gathered for the final meeting with Rob Collard, of R. Collard Demolition, as Chair. Rob has been a great asset to the Region as Chairman over the past two and a half years. His commitment to the role and his efforts for the good of the Region, the NFDC and the industry as a whole, were recognised and appreciated by his peers.
Simon Barlow, of Rye Demolition, who has held the role of Vice Chairman for the NFDC London and Southern region will officially step up to the role as Chairman in March 2019.
A live election was held during the meeting for the position of Vice Chairman and four London and Southern Counties Members presented their case for why they were the best candidate for the role.
Voting was close, demonstrating the high calibre of eligible candidates, but Duncan Rudall, Health and Safety Director of Newton Abbot based Gilpin Demolition and former President of the IDE, was selected as Vice Chairman and will officially take the role forward from March onwards.
NFDC wishes both Simon and Duncan every success in their roles, and needless to say, we will be here to support them for the duration of their terms.
