Demolition & Recycling International (D&Ri) magazine is delighted to announce that two of the industry’s most influential figures will be session chairs at this year’s World Demolition Summit.

Howard Button, CEO of the United Kingdom’s National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) will chair the morning session of the summit, which is being held in London on Thursday November 2.

And John Woodward, the chief consultant at C&D Consultancy, will take over after lunch for the afternoon, ahead of the World Demolition Awards that evening.

Howard Button is a second generation demolition man with more than 30 years’ industry experience. Apart from his current role he has been president of the NFDC,  the European Demolition Association and the Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE).

Howard is no stranger to the World Demolition Summit and Awards, having been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the event in Amsterdam in 2011.

John Woodward started C&D Consultancy in 2005 having amassed a wealth of experience with Loxley Dismantling in the north of England.

A past president of the IDE, John received an Industry Achievement Award from the NFDC in 2015 and was the first demolition professional to win the Institute of Construction Management’s Construction Manager of the Year.

He is passionate about making the demolition industry more attractive to younger people and his work with Wolverhampton University and the IDE led to the introduction of the United Kingdom’s first degree level qualification in demolition last year.

The WDS is organised by D&Ri in co-operation with the European Demolition Association. More details are available at www.demolitionsummit.com and you can see regular updates including announcements of summit speakers in D&Ri magazine or online.
