World Skills UK, The Skills Show
VR Demolition Simulating at the Skills Show
The premier event in the UK for career and events, held this year from 17-19th November 2016, at Birmingham’s NEC has the addition of the NDTG’s amazing VR simulator.
For the third year running, the National Demolition Training Group (NDTG), the training arm of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) is taking the VR simulator along to World Skills UK, The Skills Show to enable young (and older!) visitors to the show the opportunity to practice their skills on a virtual demolition site.
Lead Trainer Iain Kirk says “The simulator always draws in the crowds. It’s great fun getting young people on the simulator and putting them through their paces. At the same time, we hope to show young people that a career in Demolition is a serious option for them leaving school. There are a number of career paths available in Demolition and with the new CCDO Card Scheme there’s now a clear and progressive NVQ structure available at all levels from Demolition Apprentice through to Demolition Manager.”
Iain further commented “If you’re at The Skills Show this year, come and pay us a visit at stand number H19-J10. In addition to the simulator we’ve got gadgets to give away!”
This year the NDTG are partnering the stand of the South and City College, Birmingham where the NDTG offer courses to get young people back into work. For more information on the NDTG go to: www.ndtg.training
